After a relatively quiet week at the course in Lucerne for early birds from the United States and subsequently Canada, the elite rowing world has finally descended on the Rotsee for the 2001 World Championships.
The first worlds of any quadrennial is bound to promise some surprises, with many international squads and crews consisting of almost entirely new blood. We'll see new faces both at the line and on the medal stand come next weekend, without question. For racing previews from The IRN and FISA, see our news links.
row2k arrives in Lucerne on Saturday afternoon; racing begins on Sunday. We'll be posting photos, reports, results and news links, and more throughout the championships, sometimes several times daily. Be sure to check in often.
row2k wishes good luck to all the crews in these last days of preparation, and as the racing begins.
